Find the right booking setting
What each section of Main Settings controls, and which article walks you through it.

Find the setting
- Go to Bookings › Main Settings, then choose your venue.
- Click a section under Main Settings in the left menu:
- Basic: name, timezone, booking window
- Party Sizes: party sizes and table buffer
- Bookable Times: bookable times
- Booking Options: booking options
- Stripe: connect Stripe
- Payments: cancellation charges, deposits, full payment
- Payment Reminders: chase payment links
- Communications: confirmation emails
- Day Planner: Day Planner rules
- Guest Preferences: allergens and occasions
- Cover Limits: cover limits and buffers
- Attach upgrades: upgrades
- Attach menus: pre-order menus (Square venues only; others open Basic)
Check it worked
The section opens with your venue's settings.
Who can do this: Admin, Moderator, General Manager, ReportsAdmin, Moderator, General Manager and Reports can do this. Bookings Manager, FOH, Marketing and IT cannot.

Good to know
- Only Admin, Moderator, General Manager and Reports can open Main Settings. Bookings Manager, FOH, Marketing and IT cannot see it.
- Deposits, cancellation charges and full payment are alternatives: switching one on switches the others off.
- With Square, deposits and cancellation charges go through Square and full payment needs Stripe; without Square, all three need Stripe.
- A cancellation charge takes a card authorisation, and only takes money if your team charges a late cancellation or no-show.
- A deposit is taken when the guest books. With Square, it comes off the bill once the booking is marked Seated.
- Each booking type can set its own rules. Copy from defaults fills a new one from Main Settings.
