Mark a booking as a no-show, and charge for it

Mark a guest who did not turn up as No show. Charging them is a separate step, through Cancel.

1 min read

In short: open the booking on the Day Planner and set Status to no show. This does not charge or email the guest.

where to find it

Mark a no-show

  1. Go to Bookings › Day Planner, then choose your venue.
  2. Click the booking.
  3. In the Status list, choose no show.

The booking leaves the grid, so the table is free for a walk-in.

Charge a no-show

A charge only goes through when you cancel the booking and apply it.

a charge only goes through on cancel
  1. Open the booking and click Cancel.
  2. If a charge was agreed, tick Apply cancellation charge. You can lower the Agreed amount, not raise it.
  3. Tick Send cancellation notification to email the guest.
  4. Click Cancel booking. It shows as Cancelled, not No show.

Find your no-shows

  • Day Planner: More options › Show Cancelled.
  • List View: the Cancelled/No-Show column, with Show Cancelled on.
  • Reporting: Filters, then Status set to No show.

Check it worked

The booking's Status shows No show, and the day's total no longer includes it.

Good to know

  • To charge no-shows at all, set up a cancellation charge first, so guests agree when they book.
  • No show and Cancelled bookings never count in the day's total or slot totals, even with Show Cancelled on.
  • Complete past bookings leaves No show bookings alone.
  • FOH cannot see Reporting. Marketing and IT cannot see Bookings.
