Stampede Platform

Identity resolution

How a phone number, an email, a Wi-Fi sign-in and a card all come together as one guest.

What is it?

Identity resolution is how a stream of signals becomes one guest. Every part of Stampede contributes clues; resolution works out which ones belong to the same person — on facts, not guesswork.

Identity resolution is how Stampede turns a stream of signals into one guest. A phone number from a booking, an email from a Wi-Fi sign-up and a card seen at the till are matched to a single profile — on facts, in a fixed order (a matching phone first, then email, then a device recognised at that venue), never on a guess.

Every match is recorded with the time, what matched and how confident it was, so you can always see why two visits were treated as the same guest. A guest belongs to your business, not a single site, so someone who visits four of your venues is one regular with four visits — and their history never crosses over to another company.

How a guest is matched

01

Signal arrives

A phone, email, Wi-Fi sign-in or card arrives from anywhere in Stampede.

02

Match on facts

A matching phone comes first, then email, then a device seen at that venue.

03

Resolve

The new signal folds onto an existing guest, or creates one.

04

Recorded

Every match is logged with the time, what matched and how confident it was.

What identity resolution is — and isn’t

// IT IS
  • Matched on facts: a matching phone first, then email, then a device at that venue.
  • Every match recorded with a time and a confidence.
  • Kept within your business — never shared across companies.
  • Reversible — manual merges are recorded so they can be traced.
// IT IS NOT
  • Best-guess matching that just “feels” like the same person.
  • A silent merge of two guests when it isn’t sure.
  • Shared across businesses — a guest’s history never leaks to another company.
  • A black box — the rules are clear and every match is auditable.

The three things we match on

Verified phone

Captured via a booking, an SMS confirmation or a Wi-Fi sign-up.

Verified email

Captured via Wi-Fi, loyalty enrolment or a booking confirmation.

Device

A Wi-Fi sign-in or card, recognised at a venue.

Tip
How it relates
Identity resolution is the gateway between a raw signal and a guest. Every other part of Stampede — bookings, Wi-Fi, loyalty, reviews — adds to that same guest, and that’s what makes the profile one joined-up view.

Element features

Matched on facts

A matching phone comes first, then email, then a device recognised at your venue. No guesswork, and every match is recorded.

Three things to match on

A phone, an email or a Wi-Fi sign-in — each arriving from a different place, all folding onto the same profile.

Walk-in back-fill

An anonymous walk-in who shares details on a later visit has that earlier visit added to their profile.

Your guests stay yours

A guest who also visits an unrelated business is a separate profile there. Their history with you never crosses over.

Always auditable

Every match is recorded with the time, what matched and how confident it was.
